Shehzad

A young man named Shehzad from Guronjer, Punial, in Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, was residing in Karachi. He used to take care of family members who were ill. On the day of Eid, he left home with friends and did not return the next day. His phone was also unreachable. Concerned, his family began contacting relatives. When they received no information, they went to the police station to file a report.

At the station, the report was filed, but despite recognizing his photo, the police refused to identify him. Later, it was discovered that his body had been brought to the same station on the night of the 11th. The police had sent it to Jinnah Hospital, where it was declared unidentified and then referred to Chipa Mortuary.

As the investigation progressed, it became clear that the case centered around this police station. Initially, the police claimed he had fallen into a drain under the influence of drugs, but the wounds on his body suggested an attack with a sharp weapon. When pressured, the police changed their story to a bike accident. The officer who had received the body was named, and it was revealed that he had been sent on leave during Eid.

The police’s suspicious behavior made the case even more dubious, raising several complex questions:
1. Why was the identification hidden from the family?
2. Why was the cause of death initially stated as a fall and then changed to a bike accident?
3. If it was a bike accident, where is the bike?
4. What caused the sharp weapon wounds on the body?
